Looking for a birthday party they'll be talking about for years? Our action-packed birthday parties are unlike anything else, and the feedback from families tells us they're a huge hit with kids (and plenty of adults wish they could join in too!).
We host birthday parties in Birkenhead and at venues across New Zealand, bringing exciting, hands-on experiences to children wherever they're celebrating.
Led by experienced industry professionals, children learn real stage and screen combat skills in a safe, supportive and exciting environment. They'll learn how to swing a sword like a knight, shoot arrows with a bow, throw axes at targets, or take part in stunt and unarmed combat training. Every activity is designed to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and most importantly, ensure everyone has an incredible time.
We're also proud to offer Dungeons & Dragons-themed birthday parties, combining immersive storytelling, adventure, and hands-on activities for an epic celebration.
Party Format
Each two-hour party includes two 40-minute activities, chosen from:

We recommend a 40-minute break between activities for birthday food, cake, and presents.
You're welcome to bring your own food and drinks.
Pricing
$414 for an unforgettable 2-hour birthday party for up to 10 children.
Additional children: $40 per child (for the full two-hour experience).

WEAPONS
TRAINING
Our industry professionals will teach the kids different dramatic sword combat techniques, learning how to use steel weapons and plastic film weapons while learning choreography from movies and theatre shows. They will learn how to wield a sword like a professional, perfect if they are considering a career in acting in the future!
ARCHERY
A fun session in “historical archery” focusing on traditional Medieval shooting, where the kids will learn the principles of “instinct” archery. They will learn how to nock, draw and loose, shooting arrows at targets. With our highly skilled and trained teachers they will be hitting their targets in no time!

Your kids will learn more about the physical skills such as rolls and falls, using the mats and parkour principles - essentially how they can use their body in ways to safely undertake stunts and fight scenes.

Harness their inner Viking! At the Axe Range they will throw axes at our specially designed targets. NZSSCS was the first company to teach axe throwing in New Zealand and with our team of specially trained instructors they will be throwing an axe like a Viking in no time! This is all about fun and learning the ancient skill of launching the axe.
